  1. Two questions…
    1. Does the riving knife tilt with the blade? and
    2. Can you make zero clearance inserts for the blade?

    • Good point – I should have mentioned both those.

      1. The connection point for the guard and riving knife is on the same block as the blade, so it rises, falls, and importantly, tilts with the blade.

      2. Absolutely – you can either make one using standard techniques, take it one step further and make one that engages with one (or both) of the hold-down points, or you can get blank inserts as a SawStop accessory, that you then cut the slot (again, by using the standard technique of bringing the blade up from underneath while operating, to cut the slot). The last option obviously means it has all the holddown mechanisms that SawStop use.
