I have long tried to hold to the ideals of no advertising (banner farms suck), and that the site is completely free to anyone reading the site.
In a utopian world, the site would be fully funded/sponsored/financially remunerated by the woodworking industry, and the return to them being through their products being seen in use (resulting in sales), and not through basic advertising. The real world is not utopian.
There are many expenses involved in producing a website, especially one that is the scale of Stu’s Shed, so I have (regretfully) decided to open a channel to allow donations. Any personal details gathered through that process will not be used for any ulterior purpose. Through the options in Paypal, I tried to allow the donations to be as anonymous as possible, although that is another ideal not able to be fully achieved.
So if you are feeling particularly generous, any donations made would be most appreciated.
Through the ‘Store’ tab at the top of the site, there are links to Rockler and Amazon, with whom Stu’s Shed has affiliation agreements. If you click through to their sites and make a purchase, a small percentage of the sale is directed back to Stu’s Shed. Again, any funds gained via these channels are gratefully received.
