Dear Marketing Businesses

A trade show is a great way to identify businesses that provide services in a particular field, such as woodworking, or for contractors/tradesmen etc.  They spend quite a bit of money setting getting the space, setting up a stand, and manning it for the days of the show. Yellow Pages to their credit did the [...]

Operation Jumbo Drop

Came across a product at the recent Tradesman Expo which looked a bit of a novelty at the start, but has been really growing on me the more I think about it. The product is called a Jumbobag, and it is being touted as a skip replacement, and the more I think about it, the [...]

NTX Day 3

Final day of the show, and for me the final show for a while (at least until October).  There were no where near as many people at the Tradesman’s Show than at a wood show, but by the sound of it, the small crowd makes up for it in amount they spend.  About 5500 people [...]

NTX Day 1

(Slightly belated post – sorry – fell asleep writing it!) Day one was pretty quiet from a visitor perspective, but heaps to look at.  Sold the 3.5m machine, so that was good to have found a new home.  We have been surfacing on one machine, and copying on the other. And talking. Lots of talking [...]

NTX Setup Day

Entrance to the United Tools section – chock full of so many brands (and so many relevant to woodworking!) Sutton never turn up to wood shows, even though woodworkers do drill wood.  But they are definitely here! From normal sized tools, to big boys toys, they are all here! Ideal Tools, with their Festool/Protool/Walko range. [...]

Setup

Simply ran out of time today to write the comprehensive post I was planning. Got the stand set up, ready for the start of the NTX tomorrow. Writing this from the iPhone so can’t control the layout well. So some pics of the Stu’s Shed / TWC stand.

Preparations

Big day of preparation for various upcoming events.  The obvious one of course is this weekend, with the National Tradesman’s Expo at the Showgrounds (Melbourne) where there is a Stu’s Shed stand 9m x 3m that has to look the part. Gathering tools etc for that – routers, saws, Torque Workcentres, etc – at least [...]

EOFYS

Couple of related bits of news from Ideal Tools: Firstly, they are having an End of Financial Year Sale – check out details here. These include (along with the expected bunch of Festool tools), some of the Systainers, and Sortainers, including (and I have to see this) – a transparent systainer!! Secondly, if you’ve missed [...]
