Another show comes to a close – not sure if I’ve known one to fly by so quickly. I’d be more disappointed about that except that it is only a little under 4 weeks to the next one in Brisbane, and 4 months to the next one in Melbourne! It will be interesting to see [...]

Another fun-filled day at the Melbourne Wood Show. There were plenty of demos to look at, from Stan’s enthusiastic appearances, through Tormek sharpening, Gifkins dovetailing, Lazy Larry’s creations, Torque Workbenches, Bowl Turning, Fine Finishing, Power Carving, Didgeridoo Manufacturing etc. If nothing else, each stand has experts in the products on display, so lots and lots [...]

Show Time!! Had a great day one – still really enjoy wood shows. The day absolutely flew past, so I have hardly scratched the surface of the displays that are there. Good catching up with everyone who came along and said hi, and welcome to anyone who has now discovered Stu’s Shed because of the [...]

Sorry about the pelting rain in the background – for a country in a 10 year drought, it seems to rain at very inopportune times! This video features the Dust-Bee-Gone and Microclene [...]

Haven’t gotten too many things specifically on the shopping list for the show (yet). Dangerous going to the show with an open mind, and an open wallet (but it leads to a lot of fun too!) One year I had done a large shed clearout to eBay (way before Stu’s Shed), and so had an [...]

A number of suppliers who have also been supportive of Stu’s Shed are at the Wood Show this year, so if there is something specific you were looking for that has been reviewed here in the past, keep an eye out for (stand # in brackets): Australian Wood Review (33) – latest issue has my [...]

Last night while working out there, I heard quite a bit of banging and rustling, and I was pretty convinced it was outside the shed, so I blocked the hole (and did a pretty good job of it). Turns out I was wrong. The possum was inside after all. And he certainly let me know [...]

Been a big week, and it is only Tuesday (ok- now Wednesday – fell asleep while writing this!) Decided on Saturday that it was time for me to hand over the reins of the courses I was running at Holmesglen Tafe. The courses are in safe hands however – a friend of mine is taking [...]
