In the process of discovering what makes the Leigh Dovetail Jig tick. It will take a little time, but I will finally have a first hand knowledge of each of the major systems in the country used for dovetailing.
Leigh 18" Superjig
The systems are the Incra LS Positioner, the Gifkins Dovetail Jig, and of course, the Leigh Superjig. There are certainly plenty of other jigs, and versions out there, but at least this covers the main three methods.
The final method I will have to also give a try as well – handcut.
The Leigh Jig is available from Carbatec. It will be the subject of further articles in the near future, but I’d like to come to grips with it first!
